Privacy Policy
In short. Inner Diamond has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. Your diamonds, memos and sessions stay on your device. Something leaves the app only when you choose to share it: your email if you join Philippe's letter, the words you propose, the diamonds you send to other people, and, if you buy the direct licence, the details needed to send you your key.
This policy explains how the Inner Diamond app for iPhone, iPad and Mac, the Inner Diamond web edition at inner-diamond.e-quilibre.com (for Windows, Android and other browsers), and the Inner Diamond viewer page that opens a diamond someone sent you, handle your information. Both are made by Équilibre k.k., Tokyo, Japan ("we").
What stays on your device
Your diamonds, the qualities and facets you choose, your own words, your memos, your session history and your settings are saved on your device. We do not receive them. If you delete the app, they are deleted with it. In the web edition, they are saved in your browser's storage on that device; clearing the site's data in your browser deletes them. "Save a backup file" in Settings creates a file on your device that only you keep.
iCloud sync (optional)
If you turn on Settings > Sync with iCloud, the app keeps your diamonds, memos and session history in step between your own devices through your iCloud account, using Apple's iCloud storage. This data goes to Apple under your Apple Account. We do not receive it. You can turn sync off at any time.
Purchases
In the App Store apps, purchases are made through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment. We do not receive your payment details or your Apple Account information.
The direct licence (for the Mac app from our website and the web edition) is sold through Stripe, with Link as the seller of record. Stripe processes the payment; we do not receive your card details. To issue your licence, we receive your name, email address, country and the amount paid. We keep them with your licence key in our licence database (Supabase), and we send the key to you by email through our email provider (Resend). Your key is checked on your device. In older browsers that cannot check it, the web edition sends the key to our licence server, which answers whether it is valid and keeps nothing from the request. We use this information only to deliver your licence, answer your questions and handle refunds.
Philippe's letter by email (optional)
If you choose to join, the app sends the email address you type in, and your first name if you gave one, to our service. They are kept with our email provider (Resend) for one purpose only: to send you a short letter from Philippe Grall from time to time. We do not sell or share them. Every letter has an unsubscribe link, and you can also leave from the app's Settings or by writing to us.
Words you propose (optional)
You can add your own words to your diamond. The first time you do, the app asks whether you would like to propose your words to Philippe, so that some of them can join the list of qualities for everyone. If you agree, only the word and the family it belongs to (for example "Inner State") are sent to our service, which forwards them to Philippe by email. No name, email address, device identifier or other information is sent with the word, so it cannot be linked to you. We use these words only to improve the list of qualities in the app. You can stop proposing words at any time in the app's Settings.
PhilBot says your own words (optional)
Where this feature is available, and only if you allow it, a word you added yourself is sent to our voice service, which uses an AI voice provider (ElevenLabs) to speak it in PhilBot's voice. Only the word is sent. The audio comes back to your device and is kept there; our service keeps nothing. You can withdraw this in the app's Settings, and your words still appear on screen.
A diamond you send ("I see you")
When you send a diamond to someone, its content (the qualities, your message and the names you typed) is carried inside the link itself. The viewer page reads it in the recipient's browser. We do not store the diamond on any server, and only the people who have the link can open it. If the recipient replies, their own email app sends the reply. The viewer page uses no cookies and no analytics.
Hosting
The viewer page and the web edition are hosted by Netlify, the licence service runs on Supabase, and our small services (letter sign-up, word proposals, voice) run on Railway. Like any web server, these providers keep short technical logs, such as IP addresses and the time of a request, to run and protect their service. We do not use these logs to identify you.
Children
Inner Diamond is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Write to the address below and we will answer within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
